Welcome to the Blended Workshop for ISPP Secondary Parents! The purpose of this workshop is to help you experience blended learning and develop our thinking on parenting in a blended environment. Blended learning is learning that has a 'blend' of both online and face to face learning. This is the style of learning that your children experience at ISPP Secondary, and it helps prepare students for entirely online learning, while at the same time enriching their face to face learning experience. An important aspect of any learning experience, whether online or face to face, is a community of trust. We all come from different backgrounds and have different beliefs, and that is okay. We can still learn together and grow together, and as a result, we will each make a difference! In order to participate in this workshop, you will need a Google Account with Google+ activated. Activity 1 - Parenting Philosophy

As parents, the decisions we make about child raising are influenced by our emotions, our experiences as children, media, our studies, our peer groups, and many other factors. In the busy pace of our adult lives, we often need to make parenting decisions without taking the time to research or reason them out. Developing a parenting philosophy can help us understand our needs and our children's needs, and feel more confident in our parenting decisions. The purpose of this activity is to help us observe how we and others think about parenting, to develop our parenting philosophy, and to learn more about how other parents in our group think about parenting. The task is to create a statement of your parenting philosophy. You may create this in any language. You may use any number of words, images, charts, graphs, cartoons, film, or other creations to express your ideas. There is no right answer  for this task. A philosophy that works for one parent may not work for another. ...
